Help Please!!

I have a virus. mssearchnet.exe. to name the easiest to find. i deleted the folder that was in but it is still running. i have the XP home sp@ firewall on, ad-aware se, spy sweeper, and symantec antivirus. none of them work. i'll buy what ever is the best antivirus. advice would be much appreciated.

Hi, Go to the process tab (VIA CTRL+ALT+DELETE) and end it(The bad process) . Then Go to Start>Run>msconfig>Start up and check everything in the startup menu.

Next goto http://housecall.trendmicro.com and run this free virus scan.

i have already ended the bad process but it restarts almost immediatly. i found nothing in my start up list that shouldn't be there.

ok, next do the online scan.

i can't run the online scan as the virus shut down my internet explorer at random times. it won't stay open long enough to complete the scan.

run a disk clean up see if that helps, its worked for me

forget it i've been meaning to switch to linux anyway.

ok. if you want Ubuntu go onto their site and you can order a disk.
