For that price, that setup SUCKS!
over 2,000 dollars will get you something BETTER than that!

The processor is good. The motherboard lacks a few features... You should check out this board:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130484#DetailSpecs

This baby has 8 (YES, EIGHT!) SATA (SATA II) 3.0G ports, plus 2 ATA ports. Includes Firewire and also has a dual Gigabit integrated lan, baby!
It also features integrated Dolby 8 channel surround sound.
Features 10 (TEN) USB 2.0 connections and supports 0/1/0+1/ 0+1/5 JBOD RAID. (That's RAID 5!!)

Memory and RAM is the same thing in this sense. You called the HD RAM, and it's not RAM at all.

The memory is fine, but if you plan to overclock, go with 2gig DDR500 Dual Channel RAM kits.

That video card is good. Can't say anything about it.

You're wasting your tme with that hard drive. It's SATA 3.0GB/s but only runs at 7200 RPM. The bottle neck is the 7200 RPM. You could save money just using PATA.

Get rid of that Microsoft mouse and keyboard. It's crap. You need something better.

Keyboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823175103

Mouse:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826104191

LiteOn DVD Burner and CD Burners are actually good. LiteOns are actually one of the top 10 best CD/DVD drive manafacturers. Good choice.

That LCD monitor sucks!
If you're gonna spend 280 bucks on a monitor, at least use DVI and not RGB analog.

Get this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824021019#DetailSpecs

The monitor is 19 inches. So, it's the same size as the one you picked out. The constrast may not be as high(500:1 instead of 600:1), but the cd/m2 is much higher and plus this monitor supports DVI. Not only that, but it's 8ms. Much better than 12ms. Not only that, but it's cheaper.

If your sayin he should buy from Newegg, then im sorry but he cant. Looks to me like hes an aussie, and they dont send to our beautiful country.

EDIT: And thats 2319 aussie dollars, makin that $1748 american, is it shit for that price now?

Yes it is.

I was able to build a system for 1300 with:

a RAID 0 80g setup (I already have 400 gigs on my current PC)
Opteron 165
Watercooling
MSI Dual Gigabit Board (Same as listed above)
2 Gig DDR500 RAM
100% Acrylic case (Blue)
450 - 500 Watt PSU
Liteon DVD 16x with Lightscribe
GeForce 6800 GS
Built-in 8 channel surround sound

With the LCD screen, it would make it 1580
