Ok, i stilled a 32-bit distribution of linux, its called ( I DONT KNOW!! I FORGET) but i installed it to my external hard drive, partioned 2 gigs of space for the OS, and 512 for bootup sequence, and 40 for space on the OS, but whenever i try booting it, It says, loading grub, so on so on, goes through about 200 sequences and then it stops saying something about not being able to access my external..and yes my external harddrive is ON...

Does the external HD enclosure have any activity lights? Are they active when booting, and then stop when you get the message? It could be an issue with power, you're running off USB 2.0? 1.1? What distro? The installation could be corrupt. What's the full error message, exactly? The distro would be nice to know also, there are several ways that this could go.
