Dynamic Overclocking Tecnology?

I have an MSI graphics card and there is an option to overclock the card using D.O.T.

I looked on MSI's website and apparently it overclocks your card only when it is under heavy load (such as when playing games), and then goes back to normal when not under load. MSI states that it is a much safer way than manual overclocking.

Before I do this I want to know whether overclocking too much will damage your card straight away, and is there any way to tell whether the card is overclocked too much?

Thanks

well manual overclocking is always safer if u know what u are doing.
I'd just do it manually.

And yes overclocking too much can do some damage to the card, though it's very rare. I don't have any experience with that kind of programs, since I've always done it manually. But usually the damage to the card is done by either changing the voltage or the memory thingys. (don't remember what they were, could have been timings  ) so just changing the clock speeds is quite safe. But still, keep an eye on the temps.
