I'll be adding another video card later. Motherboard was another mind boggler, DFI or ASUS. I went with ASUS due to the name. If all looks good and I get your guys blessings then I'll start the purchasing now. (It'll be done piece by piece, and not all at once.)

you should go with one of the new intel 9XX series they are a 65nm instead of a 90nm allowing to over clock the hell out of them. Plus they arent really that expensive.

No, stick with the 165 Denmark. It's a much better Dual-Core then the Pentium D and the Athelon 64 X2 series processors. That Opteron 165 along with 2 gigabytes of RAM and a 7800GT is a mighty fine PC. :D

I'm thinking he should get a Western Digital 120GB S-ATA hard drive. It's fast, it has lots of room, and it's reliable. :) You can't go wrong when you have all those aspects. :)

change out the RAM and get some of these same chips, (Samsung UCCC) but cheaper.

DONE!!

As for hard drives, I can get them through work. 140 GB SATA for free. Theres nothing out there that is more worth THAT. They're only 1.5s but hey, I'm not complaining. For awhile I was able to get SCSI drives and boards, but not anymore. Plus mobo's with SCSI support are hard to find with other features like SLI (ASUS now makes one with CROSSFIRE support though, but it's Pentium and EXPENSIVE).
