OK, my board can support memory up to DDR533

Well, now, I'm wondering:

If I buy 2 PC4400 and set the BIOS to run the memory at DDR533, will it work?

My local shop says anything higher than DDR400 is DDR-2 (184pins) and tells me it will not work..how come?

damn, u guys always confuse me with ur pc????? thingys. But pc4400 = ddr550?
Or something like that?

It should work fine, atleast I've never seen any problems when using faster ram than the mobos maximum supported speeds.
And the guys at the shop are wrong, I think that ddr550 is the fastest ddr I ram.

I dunno...I would try DDR533 or DDR500, but I would get the money first...

Try a low speed first, I remember messing up and buying a really fast speed for really poo motherboard, it worked fine, but turned off the pc and could smell a burnt out smell, I took out the RAM and the gold pins has turned a black colour.

One thing: My mobo isn't poo. It's a good decent board: The ASUS P4P800D-X And to tell you, my manual tells me about that too
