Well yes you're right. But a laser pointer is class 2 like the laser in your disc drive. In the hands of those that are clueless they can do permanent damage to thier own and someone elses retina. Pointers are mean to pointed toward an object. Not a person. It just takes a millisecond and the damage is done.

And as for the legal issue, if he causes injury to another person then it will hit the fan.

just go and round up $6 and go to QT and buy a laser pointer... use that instead, those things take a little more to burn eyes and no damage(atleast I still have good sight) should happen if it does flash in someones eyes.
Just tape that in the area that you want the laser, I think that should work... they have buttons on the side that you can use, and batteries won't be so confusing.
