Printer Problem

I need to make certain characters on a paper lighter than the rest, so you can like trace the letters. (It's for like little kids so they can learn Japanese letters). I do it on powerpoint, and it looks all fine, but when I go to print it out, they're all dark. The printed paper should look like this.

But when I print it out, all of the light inked characters turn bold black. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have this printer.

Maybe its a powerpoint setting, try light blue or something see if that works
(I gotta learn Japanese one day...)

What exactly do you mean "Try light blue." ?

I think he means the color. Try and printing it on word, maybe that will work perhaps.
