Come on gurus
Any freecom user should know the answer to this one. Ok, i own up ,i don't want to install the software because sods law always applies to me - if it can go wrong it will go wrong, so my motto is, if you don't need it don't install it.
I don't know a smilie for chicken or i would use it.
I'm an old guy and i just like to keep things simple.

Sorry guys
I guess i'm in the the wrong country/forum.
Perhaps external hard drives have not been introdduced to the us of a yet. I will just have to try here at home (uk).
I new i should have pressed the uk button in google.
Never mind. as i said if it can go wrong it will.

Hi, Just a comment or two which should end this thread. I got a response back from freecom (bless them) and the answer is - You can use this external drive without installing any freecom software, and it's worthy of note that the nice person from freecom told me that none of her colleagues who have a freecom device at home bother to use the free software either.
Hope this last piece of info may help some other user.
Cheers
roger and out
