Athlons

I have 2 calculations (mostly scientific number "crunching"): One with Athlon XP 2800+ (512 MB RAM) and another one with Athlon 64 3200+ (960 MB RAM). The CPU clocks are comparable 2.08 and 1.99 MHz.

The Athlon 64 calculation takes 1460 sec while Athlon XP takes 1790 sec. Could somebody makes sense out of this difference (about 20%)?

Well the Athlon 64 has an intergraded memory controller, and more ram in the system so there ya go.
