Video card question.

i just have a quick simple question, or a few maybe.

currently i own a radeon 9700 pro.
i've been having some problems running games but it may just be low ram issues. but the video card is about 3 years old. it may run just fine and i need to tune up other things with my computer, but i may need to replace the videocard. but i'm really not sure if i should, i wouldn't even know what is better than it.

so just anyone's opinion would help, i just wanted to know if i should replace it, or if i'm fine with what i have now. and a suggestion on what video card i should get to replace it with.

What type of motherboard do you have? How fast if your CPU (Processor)? How much RAM do you have? What kind of CPU do you have? What type of applications do you plan on running, games, video editing?
