Connection keeps dropping...

My connection keeps dropping like once a day, every other day... Its pissing me off... Does anyone know the problem? I have a wireless-B linksys 2.4 ghz router... Also.. What channel would be the best to use? Im new to this dsl/router stuff... Thanks

Try chanels 1 + 11 and make sure that your router isnt near a cordless phone or microwave as they can interfear.

Make sure settings are correct ie idle time=0
Also make sure antivirus with real time scanning isnt interfearing.

Also try wired to distinguish that its not a router fault

Something else to try-

Disconnections can happen when your router TX/RX speed is set to auto and it keeps changing speed.

So change to manual and set it lower -Lower is more stable

Ie 36mbs -----> this should be more than enough

It may be a firmware issue. Updated firmware?
Desktop? Laptop? PCI wireless card? USB wireless card? PCMCIA wireless card?
What is the rest of your equipment?
