I was excited to try my new hardware and ran world of warcraft before installing the drivers for my sound card, and it worked perfectly. I then closed the program, installed the sound drivers, and rebooted... I ran world of warcraft again, and it froze mid-game upon reading a quest. I tried installing warcraft 3, but that game freezes the moment I finish loading it. The hardware I am using is all new, maxtor 200 gb sata hard drive, asus a89-SLI board, dual nvidia geforce 7800 GT oc, 2gb corsair gaming ram, amd athlon 64 3700 939 pin.
I am using the on board sound built into the asus board, the realtek alc850, have there been any reports of problems similar to mine? I located and installed new drivers online from realtek's site.... could there be another problem that I simply did not discover until I installed the sound drivers?
