Need Help On Building a Gaming CPU

Hi Everyone!
I'm new to this forum so let me first introduced myself..My name is Michael and I'm 25 years old..and i have just signed up on this forum because i wish to learn more about computers since i have few knowledge about it..Anyways my friend is trying to build me a gaming computer for about one thousand dollar...and these are the parts he has suggested me to get...i was wondering if u guys think its a good set up or if u have any better suggestion on any parts that is better for about one thousand dollar, feel free to give me some suggestions...i have spent alot of money on computers and upgrading it..so i wish this would be my last computer therefore i hope to get the best of the amount im spending..THANK YOU!!

Looks good, but certainly doesn't "wow" me that much (in my opinion). For $1,000, it's a pretty nice system. Go for it, if that's what you want. I want that hard drive...did you hear about the 150GB version of the Raptor drive? It's new.

Hey mike welcome. From what i see your setup seems pretty good if i had to make some comments i would say to probly get a bigger hard drive maybe atleast a 120gb. That is a fine graphic card but you might need a bit more ram. That mobo can hold up to 4gb. So i would say 1.5-2gb. Im sure your machine will turn out great. Make sure to get a big enough power supply and a few fans. Wait till some other guys post dont take all your advise from a 14 year old.

Keep that hard drive you have already. Total price is a coulpe hundred dollars more than your specs, but I like looking at this one. It's not bad. More money with the dual core.

The 2GB version has a much higher latency than the 1GB version. That's how I see it. So far, I've noticed that the more RAM you put in there, the higher the lag gets. For a 2GB RAM, that OCZ does an excellent job.

That would be a nice system for you. It's SLi so that's a fully loaded motherboard.

for a gaming computer I'd go with amd. Intel just ain't a match for amd in gaming.
Overall the specs that TRD gave u are awesome, maybe a little more expensive but still awesome.
