just wondering how to format my hard drive outside of windows or better yet if anyone has come across a program called spy sheriff which...basically makes your computer unusable any information on how to get rid of it would be greatly appriciated

Download an ISO disk of knoppix (takes about an hour on cable modem), burn it to a CD, boot up with it, and you should be in the knoppix OS (it's really nice ). Then run the formatting utilities in that.

It's a little bit more than you really need as you could just download a floppy bootable copy of cfdisk and do it there; i just think its useful to have a copy of knoppix around at all times

In DOS you can type format c: (or what ever letter ur drive is)
