Anyone remember these socket 7 evil things? Some of you sure do.
Of course I believe Cyrix won the award for most evil CPU at the time.

I was the *unlucky* one to have owned both of these because I got sucked into the price difference between AMD and Intel. I can't tell you how many problems I had with these CPU/mobo combos.

Anyone remember the Win95 bootup problem with a K6-2 300 or higher?
had to download a patch just to get windows to run.

Thank god for AMD being able to suck it up and get passed that nightmare.

kudos to you AMD! :D

Well, just wanted to let people know that those created a lot of Intel fans (me included). I've been running Intel for the passed 6 years, but now I think I'm willing to give AMD a try since they seem to be doing great things for the gamers

The first Intel I've owned was the Pentium w/ MMX Technology while the first AMD processor was the AMD K6-II. :p

first processor I owned was a AMD K6-2 300 followed by the K6-3 400

Second was a Pentium 233 w/ MMX =D

Again, AMD K6 use Super Socket 7...that socket can support FSBs up to 100MHZ

Usually, AMD K6 is designed to run at est with Windows 98...but I didn't had trouble with Windows XP...cuz I have a 500MHZ CPU
