Front Panel Mic Input Not Working

Okay so i've tried quite a few things to get it working but to no avail. I've cleaned out inside of computer and wiped the cables, taken out the mic connections and cleaned the pins they go onto, cleaned out the actual mic in put and cleaned the actual front panel. Anyone else got ne ideas on what could be happening? Or just other things I can try to make it work?

Windows does not see it. Perhaps you can reinstall drivers?

Which drivers? I already reinstalled sound drivers and updated them. Also the mic input does work but has a very poor signal (it's recieves really queit).
