I'm running a Celeron 2.9 ghz processor, 768 ram, MX4000 128mb PCI Card.
Beat that! Lol j/k

mix a 9800pro with that system and you'll get somewhere around 5.9k...i was getting that with a 2.7ghz celeron and 512mb pc-2700 ram

Now I was thinking about upgrading my 2.9ghz Celeron (256 kb L2 Cache, 533 FSB) to a Pentium 4 Prescott 2.4 Ghz (1MB L2 Cache, 533 FSB).

Would I see a difference in gaming between the two processors?

The processor I'm looking at is a P4 2.4ghz processor with 533 FSB and 1MB L2 Cache. That is way faster than what I have right now.

I am putting the processor on the mobo that came with the Emachines. If I want to overclock that bad boy, I need to purchase a different motherboard of the same chipset family right?

Ok So if I do grab and another mobo and overclock the processor, what else would i need to keep it cool because I do read how everyone who overclocks it need more fans. Would I be able to put everything I need in that Emachines case or do you think I should get new case, new everything?

I am beginner at installing processors and such so do you think for now I should just upgrade the processor in the Emachines tower and leave it alone? I think that should be good enough. Give me some input on both ways though.
