When burning DVDs, is it possible to give them menus, just like the original copy? My cousin burned me a DVD some time back and it has no scene selection. It just plays straight through, though you can skip from one scene to the next. You just do so blindly.

DVD Shrink 3.2 works like a charm! Even compresses the movie to fit on a 4.7 dvd.

Are there any drawbacks to compression?

Would I have to buy those programs?

Video created with poor compression engine may look fuzzy or blocky otherwise known as being pixelated. DVD does not support the full HDTV screen resolution (maximum 720 x 480 NTSC). Pixel scaling may become obvious on high quality HDTV screens. Those compression programs can be purchased online or can be downloaded for free.
