I was looking towards Opterons for my next upgrade, which will happen sometime after the new year. Now I've narrowed it down to 3 choices :

Opteron 146

**The Price will go down on this on the next sale to about 190$

Opteron 148

Opteron 165
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=16792&vpn=OSA165CDBOX&manufacture=AMD

I do a lot of gaming and I will definitly be overclocking. Some graphics editing, video editing also but not very much. Mostly Gaming.

If anyone could help me and give some opinions on the better choice I would really appreciate it.

get the 146 if you dont care about dual cores. The 165 is a dual core. its 3GHz on air if you have the RAM to support that. The ballistix might not be able to do 1:1 so you will need to put it on a divider. The Crossfire mobo might not be able to get to the desired speeds you want. The 146 has a multi of 10 so you need a 300FSB to get 3Ghz. The 165 has a multi of 9 ( i think) so you need a FSB of 333 to get 3Ghz. Get some OCZ Plat. Rev. 2. Some can clock up to DDR600 and up. So you will not need a divider.

Hmm...Thanks for the info..

I'm still not sure about the CrossFire mobo or not because an 1800XT is plenty enough power for now..Maybe just a Single PCI-E Dfi
