i am having a problem with my modem i have a compaq computer and it does not detect my modem and i don't know how to fix this i am trying to get on the internet at home and i have to use a public computer to post this message can anyone help me and tell me what to do to fix this problem.

Have you installed the modem driver??

Yeah, check drivers first. Reinstall ISP software or modem software. If still not working, delete COM ports in Device Manager and manually set COM ports until one works.
