what's overclocking

Even the most minute overclock, can have a huge impact on your performance. I jumped from 70-80 frames per second on my Radeon X700 not OCed, then OCed it by 10% and got 95-110 frames per second! So even the smallest overclock can drastically help you out, wether that be just viewing the web or watching movies you download. It always makes a difference. :D
damn! thats alot of frames!

cool, thanks everybody. i dont have my system yet, and i was just asking this cuz i was concidering doing overclocking.

um, so wat would u concider more cost-efficient:
amd64 3200+ OC'd or
amd64 3500+ stock/OC'd a lil bit

i would mainly use it for browsing, and little stuff. but also for playing some low-profile games(i think they are). like "the sims2" adn "rollercoastertycoon3" and "civilization4". but i might be playing some "bigger games" like "COD2" or "Quake4". i dunno. but ur input would be nice. thanks much. :D

It depends on what settings he's running at... but yeah, it's a big difference. A 3500+ is the better choice in my opinion. A 3200+ if you don't have the funds. Be careful! As i stated earlier, make sure you have adequate cooling: a good air fan or liquid cooling. phase change if you have the funds.

where can i get "phase change"... the refrigeration cooling, right? and how much is a cheap(but efficient/working) watercooling system?

Well, I don't know of a "cheap but efficent/working" liquid cooling system. When you go liquid, you go expensive but you also go effective. These are some of them: http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-wat-29.html?id=YqLPNiZc
