good computer for around 1000

custom is the way to go, and if ur not comfortable with building it yourself you can always check out some gaming pc sites.. ibuypower etc.. never tried them myself, but it's up to you. i've had bad experiences with e-Machines.. i would'nt go with them
 
One way is to buy a bare bones computer and buy the rest of the things you want in it. That is what I am doing. So far it looks like it will cost about $800 total to get a decent setup. The best part is you don't get the stuff you didn't want to begin with. With Ebay and places like New egg, the componants aren't too expensive.
