why overclock it when you should just buy a faster processor, GPU, etc! OCing a lowest end thing to get it highest end is just GHETTO!!! often it risks stability though. I understand doing it with a slighly lowe end model if the price difference is SUBSTANTIAL, but not to a processor you can just pay 20-50 bucks to get a better one thats twice as good (imagine overcloking THAT ONE!!!) and have it last you way longer.

this is the intel mobo I'm considering. Please let me know what you think. I really dont care about looks so keep that in mind. also I cannot go above 150 bucks.

Intel mobos are the most stable, just because they offer no overclocking what so ever

Actually, overclocking won't mess up anything unless you're rash enough to do something stupid. Overclocking is about safety and patience. You steadily increase the speed, not like some people who just push it up then expect it to be way faster. Those people are idiots who then put everything out of perspective and cry about how they messed (or almost) up their processor or video card when it was their own fault.

bad luck? Overclocking isnt about luck at all (maybe about which stepping you get) but overclocking will do no harm to the chip whatsoever.
