Best way to back up a hard drive??

I guess there are a lot of ways to partition. You can buy software from stores that does that, ie. PartitionMagic, Partition Commander, etc., etc. What's good about that is you can do it on the fly within Windows. FDISK requires the hard drive to get reformatted in the process so that's pretty heavy stuff.

If you are looking for a cost effective solution, I would opt for an external hard drive and just use NT backup to backup nightly to the drive. You can buy an external usb/firewire 100 gb hd for like 100 bucks.

If you leave your machine on overnight, you can configure it so it backs everything up at like 4 am directly to the drive. 16 gigs shouldnt take too long to back up. Most likely under an hour. Best of all, NT Backup is free and very easy to use.
