Right now, you can get a fairly good dell for about £19 more.

Price roughly comparable then. I had it built April this year, wouldnt buy Dell, loads of problems reported in "Which" magazine here, poor service, wrong parts supplied etc.
 
Since you got it in April, I would of suggested more RAM for that price. XP Requires at least 128 MB to run, 256 to run nicely, 512 to run smoothly.

Yes I know Seti's age, we email each other, he's a mere youngster, lol, I'm 75 in May, got interested in computers when my wife passed away just after our 40th anniversary, but coping very well indeed now, didn't at first, living
on my own in a country bungalow. couldn't have children.
