i have a problem with my winXP SP2. well, it's not really a problem, but it sure annoys me from time to time. i have a few directories with lots of documents, and i like them to be neat and tidy. so, i right click in certain folder, go to view, and choose list. the problem is that windows won't remember my changes, and the next time i restart the system, view is set to TILES. how to make windows remember changes i made to icons VIEW and ARRANGE?
i found this on some forum:
1. Run regedit
2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Program Manager\Restrictions
3. Find DWORD "NoSaveSettings" and set its value "0".
4. If this item doesn't exist, create it.
, but unfortunately it didn't help, as this value was already in my register.
could someone help me please?

go to the window you want...

click on tools and then on options.

select the view tab.
you'll see in the advanced settings box there is an option to remember the folders settings.

also you can (if the foloder is setup how you want it) tell it to apply that folders settings to all folders.
