Hey Guys my computer is running really really slow butmy computers specs are good

specs:
Intel Celeron 2.8Ghz CPU (#336), Socket 775, 533MHz FSB, 256Kb L2 Cache

Foxconn 945P7AA-8EKRS2 Motherboard, Socket 775, Intel 945P Chipset, ATX, 800MHz Max FSB

512mb ddr 400 ram

100gb hard drive, IDE

320w iCute ATX Power Supply

Sapphire ATi Radeon 9600 Pro AGP Video Card 256mb

CUSTOM-MADE

tried formatting and defragging, both helped a bit but still runs extremely slow thnx guys
 
Get rid of startup programs, delete temp files and backup all your large files like MP3's, MPEG, AVI files then delete them off your hard drive, get rid of programs you never use, clear history, run for scans like allen812 mentioned, and defrag. You will notice your PC will run faster after performing all that is mentioned in this thread.
 
Hijack this doesn't remove gaps, you need to tell it to. By doing this, you need to get a Hijack this user who knows what he is doing. PM me for some people.
 
HJT is an analyzer, that's all. You may remove things, only if told by a HJT tech.
 
Bad, even if something looks bad, it shouldn't be taken off. If you remove the wrong things, it could damage your system.
