hey fellow techies. I have never used windows themes. Even with windows xp after every re install I just change to its silver theme and never touch it. When ever I see a desktop screen shot on the forums someone is always using a cool theme. I have tried windows blinds, and another one but they all cost a bit much imo and I would think there would be good, free, virus free, ones out there. Let me know whats the norm as far as this goes. thanks.

not really understanding why you have to replace the UXtheme.dll.. never heard of doing this. Anyone got any explanation ???

its because this is more than a few new icons or some different colours it changes the entire layout

Theres a really cool program... Aston Shells... do a search for it. Its a bit confusing on the organization, but it ends up looking awesome. its only a one week trial though.... used to be free. costs 20 bucks I think. But theres tons of custom themes people make and its all 100 percent customizable.
