Hello everyone just wanted some advice on a few things. this will be the first time building a computer and before i start buying stuff just want to make sure everything will flow. so here goes below is a list of my hardware that i intend to buy. So fire at will feel free to add anything that you think will increase the efficeincy of my system or take away for that matter thanks.

well the computer is mostly a gift for my wife she uses it for digital media editing, burning, graphics web design,perhaps some gaming,home office stuff. just want to make sure we get a good speed last time we bought a computer we bought a prebuilt system and were quickly out run by technology dont want that to happen again.my budget is around a thousand kind of piecing it together. yeah thats my bad on the heat sink

so besides the video card everything else looks like it is good to go. hmmm case is ok... so what does that really mean??
 
Just that I was thinking... lol... I wrote what I thought... it's a good case for your needs.. go for it.
 
your buying the 3700 from tiger direct, for 250, newegg.com has the same one for 233, might as well save 20 bucks!

edit, also why not get a sata hard drive?
 
You have to get a video card, otherwise you can't see anything on the montior, as that motherboard doesn't have onboard video.

The IDE drive is fine, saves a lot of hassle when installing (trust me!), but is slightly slower and cheaper. Get the 3500, not much worse and a big saving. It's exactly the same speed, just with less cache, and cache doesn't make that much of a difference.
