Ok a while ago I had a problem with my computer not detecting my dvd drive. Well I just installed a floppy drive in my computer and now it isnt detecting that either. What the heck is going on. Is there somthing wrong with my motherboard or somthing? I cant figure out why it isnt detecting either of those things. Although it does detect my sata hard drive.

ive had that problem before try unplugging the cables for the front usb ports and see if they show up

Is the green light from the floppy drive stays on?

Thanks for the quick replies. Yeah it stays on but when I go to My Computer it dosent show it and the bios didnt detect it either. Although device manager says its working fine but I dont trust device manager anymore.

You got the cable reversed. Pull the floppy cable out and put it back in the other way. I haven't touched a floppy for so long, lets see if I can remember this. I think isn't there like a red line on the side of the data cable? It needs to be facing the power connector.

I think the floppy is bad. Either that or the cable is bad. Any chance you can borrow someone else's floppy drive and stick it into yours for testing? Maybe ask them if you could temporarily remove their drive and put it in yours real quick. If it works, you know what the problem is.

Well I have tried different cables so thats not it. I could try sticking the floppy in my brothers computer see if that works but I dont feel like doing it tonight.
