I have a 3.2GB Laptop HDD but it won't work as expected. I cannot partition it, format it, run it, do anything with it. There is a probvllem with the partition table. What can I do?

Try booting it with a Win98 startup disk and do a "FDISK /MBR". This fixes the master boot record and leaves your data in tact. (Some boot managers use MBR though - they will get wiped out. If that happens use Disk Director or FDISK to set the partion you wish to boot from active).

It works in XP. Trust me, I used it many times. That's one of the tools I pack with me when I go to a friend's house who is having problems with their Windows XP OS.

Well, I triedwhat you said and it gave me an error reding disk. I guess it's done. I now have a 10GB HDD and tried to install XP on:

PI 233MHZ
96MB RAM
10GB HDD
2MB video card

Result: It won't boot lol

At the end I said screw this and instal Win98, in which I run now

lol xp doesn't run on those specs :p i tried putting it on a 300mhz 96mb ram and like a 4gb hd lol and it just died so i went back to ME

No jumper issue was there. I checked this first.

@AOD: Concerning the minimum requirements on Microsoft's site, I was a little over the minimum settigns
