phones are not working in the sims complete collection!

I finished my house and everything, but I cannot call anybody (call neighbors, throw party, some of the services). My job says "fame"...is that the problem? Should I get a different job?

Maybe you need to meet friends outside of your hood, and buy a phone

How many times have u tried? I mean with like build a new house on a new slot and then try it. If it doesn't work on the new house then u could try reinstalling the game.

Or try to get some patches.

This happened on all of the sims. About 5 years ago I had the original sims, livin large, and vacation. The same thing happened. Then a recently bought the Complete Collection, and it continues to do this. I have tried reinstalling the game, and there are no patched that can fix this.
