whats so good about the 6800GS over the 6600GT

everything

The 6800GS is quite much like the 6800GT. The GS has higher clock speeds, don't know if there are any other major differences.

Actually, it's more of an understatement. It's a GREAT video card. Dual DVI and S-Video (to TV) output. Whoa, I want that one.

Let me put it into perspective for you...

7800GTX = $814 AUS
7800GT = $646.80 AUS
6800GT = $559.90 AUS

Is it really worth it?

Dang, $646 AUS!!!! US has it for cheap compared to that price. I think you should settle for a 7800GT then. It's definitely worth it. As good as the 6800GT are, they are getting kind of old, but at the same time, powerful in gaming too. The 7800 series is brand new stuff. I would try to get the GTX if you can, but if money was a factor like me, get the 7800GT.
