FlashMX 2004 help - editing .SWF

Hiya all!

Is there anyway to actully edit .SWF files once they have been published?

I have a program that makes flash buttons easily, i have exported the fash (as a .SWF) but i would like to open this file in FlashMX2004 to actully edit it.
