Which processor for video editing?

basically if someone refers something to u, they will refer what they like

i dont think that the 4800+ is all taht better than the 4400+

but if you want intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 840 3.2Ghz
is the way to go.

No, Extreme Edition is definitely not worth the price tag.

4800+ is like, the ultimate CPU but only if you need its power, over, say, a 3800+ or a Sempron.

get the 4400 x2 its AMAZING. I would also suggest against the Asus board, because other brands use a better chipset the nForce4. MSI, Gigabyte, Abit, and DFI make superior boards. I highly suggest the DFI lan party nforce4 expert board. I just got it from newegg.com and it is the best motherboard I've ever had. I have also seen stiff competiton from the abit fatality board. Both have easy to use features for overclocking.
Asus boards at least there old Sli boards had a horrible northbridge.

ya get an athlon.

i would get the cheap one so then you can spend the cash you saved on ram or something like taht. i know i just contradicted the thingk i said earlier
