power supply for sli

if i were to build a system using SLI, would i have to use an SLI supported psu like these?

1st, there is like 40 power supplies in that link.
And just make sure that it has enough wattage to run your SLI config. I think that the SLI approved thing is just that nVidia will promise that the psu will be 100% compatible with SLI.

Make sure the power supply is at least a MINIMUM of 550 watts, no less.

personally i suggest 600 with dual fans, if you have two grphx cards, you don't want them under used or affected by a bad brand psu.
