heh, yes it only costs like a grand. which is what.. 30% more than the computer he wnats to buy? what kind of games are you looking foward to playing.. list some please. i'll let you know if the x300 can handle it.. right now , my best guess is NO no matter what. lol

Games Like Halo, Jedi Outcast 2, The Medal of Honor Series, Counter-Strike, Sims 2.

It will play halo fine, my dad's Geforce 2 mx 400 can play that lol.

Is it the original counter strike or Counter Strike: source you want to play?

It will play the origianl no problems at all, and considering half-life 2 will play at 36 fps I think you may just get away with source (depending on your internet connection of course).

hmm... i'd say it will play those games within a margin... i wouldnst suggest the x300.. at LEAST the x600 pro should be installed on that.. or just pitch in a little bit of money for a 64 meg card.. i'll come back to this post, let me do some research
