Test 6.0= New Computer....

Well I talked to a few of you in the Performance test 6.0 thread and said that I'd start a thread for my new computer so here it is. I'm not sure that I am confident in building it from the ground up, I'd know how to basically "put it all together" and wire it all where it needs to go but I wouldn't know where to go from there as in can I just boot directly to my XP disc and go to town or what needs to be done. Anyways if I feel confident (which I probably will after some talking w/ you guys) I'll need a list of what to buy.
I put together a computer w/ you guys before but it wasn't AMD and I want to make the switch, so if you get bored in the next few days and feel like posting a list of links (new egg preferred) as to how you'd build an AMD computer to be used for video editing/word processing/high intensity programs (for my church)/serious multitasking etc. for under $1400 what would it be?
I'm not stuck on much except that it'll have to have at least a gig of ram, and I've been eyeing (sp?) the 74gig 10,000rpm hd's if they really make a difference. Anyways have at it and don't feel obligated I was just asked to start this thread by some guys on here. Thanks in advance for the help.

Ok, well, I'll post links for you later, but, because I know my comps well enough, here goes: amd x2 3800+, 1g of ram, 500gb hitachi deskstar, 6800gs, sli mobo, antec case w/psu (420W), xp home, dvd burner/drive, and any mouse and keyboard and monitor. That might come out to around $1400, but I'm thinking that's a little more actually. Maybe get a 6600gt? I'll get the links when I have time... lol...

I forgot to mention that I am just building a tower jac006, I already have an acer 17" flat pannel lcd so I will be using that.
TRD I looked it all over and it looks like something I could do except what type of output does that video card have? eVGA? that's different from what I've ever seen.
oh, you guys are sure to be tired of me soon but I also would like to go to a dual monitor setup since that's what I use at my church and that's what I'm comfortable with. I've seen some cards w/ two vga outs for that but I heard that they weren't the best setup since the cards themselves were not high in quality.
I also take it that the 10,000rpm hd's are worth it since you included it in your list, oh and there's no sound card on there but I can take care of that since it can be added later and isn't necessary for initial setup.

That video card uses dual DVI output and a single S-video out to a TV. It's good stuff. You should be able to do dual monitor setup easily with that high performance video card.

Sound cards are nice to have, but the onboard sound is adequate. If you do want a sound card, this is a good one:

How the heck do I use my VGA monitor w/ a dvi connection? Is there a converter? Oh and I looked at it and saw that it had dual output so I guess that means that I can run two monitors (if I can figure out how to connect them )
