AMD 3500+ or AMD 3700+

well...the only thing that will go out of date in the next 1-2 years will be the mobo....but then after that it'll last at least another year.....most people said i should be set til at least the end of 2008 to the beginning of 2009

Thats what i thought...cause then all i'll need to do is update my mobo RAM and cpu and then prolly buy a better hard drive

I think your hard drive should be fine for many years to come. As long as you back up your data files to prevent it from getting too full.

I would back them up on DVD's. CDs storage capacity are too small. I should've mentioned before you order, to get a DVD burner instead of a CD burner. The price difference isn't that much and DVD burner can burn CDs too. But backing them up to CDs are ok too. You'll just end up using more of them. I deal with tons of movie, program files so you can see why I need the space. If all you have to backup are songs and simple data files like Word, Powerpoint, pictures, etc, then CDs are super fine.
