INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
on bios screen, weve all seen in before on a unformatted hdd

but i seem to be having this problem with a freshly formatted winxp harddrive that works in one pc but not the other.....applied defualts to bios still nothing any sugestions or step by steps that could troubleshoot what im doing wrong?

many thanks

windows xp recognises your system to stop copying rights, so the system it works on im guessing that is the pc windows was installed on, and the other you are just changing the hard drive it won't boot because windows does not recognise your system you will have to reload windows on that system for it to work.you cannot swap hard drives from one pc to another with windows xp it just will not work im afraid.hope this helps

ah okok this does help many thanks....although iv tried another clean winxp boot from another hdd and everytime it tries it reboots. what uv said explains that but insert system disk and press enter..its almost as if the hdd is not reconised...yet it is in the bios
