Hi ya, ive got a sony vaio PCG-GRX315MP, Intel Pentium 4 M. I did a clean install of XP pro about 2 months ago and i have a yellow question mark by Video Controller (VGA Compatible) and i cannot find the driver that i need, nor can microsoft. Also when im scrolling down webpages i get lines across it as i am scrolling and no matter how slow i scroll the pages kind of 'lags' any ideas?

thanx alot

matt

did there come a cd with the laptop?
Check which company made ur vid card and go to their pages and download the drivers.

how can i find what my video controller is? is it my graphics card? would the fact that the image is jumpy indicate that its not properly installed. Windows cannot find the driver needed? nythin else i could do to sort out the jumpy web scrolling image.

Thank you very much for all of your help.

regards
matt

That's because the video drivers arent installed.

Go to lavalys.com and download Everest, and then go to Display > Windows Video and tell us what you see as your Device Description.
