Alright this is probably going to be the ONLY time I'll ever request information on how much I should sell a computer for, then what system to buy with that money.

I have a computer that is good, but I want to upgrade to an AMD CPU and PCI-E video interface. I also want to get a 7800GT, but first I need the cash. So here's what my computer is right now...

ASUS P4P800S-X Series
Pentium 4 @ 2.8GHz
1 Gig of RAM
ATi Radeon X700 AGP 8x
40 Gig HDD
4x CD Drive
4x DVD Drive
300W True Power PSU

The system I want to get is this...

ABit Fatal1ty A8N SLI Motherboard
AMD Athelon64 2.2 GHz CPU
nVidia 7800GT
40 Gig HDD
A DVD Drive that will run CDs and DVDs
1 Gig of RAM, doesn't matter what speed

So the thing is I need to know how much to sell my computer for to cover the costs of these items. I set up this configureation and it came up to be $845.39. The configuration was this...

ABIT Fatal1ty AN8-SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

3D Fuzion 3DFW78256GT Geforce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3000BPBOX - Retail

CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered System Memory Model VS1GB400C3 - Retail

Western Digital Caviar WD800BB 80GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM

BenQ Cool Gray IDE DVD Burner Model DW1620 Cool Gray - OEM

I think that is the best system I could put together for under a grand. Any help on how much I should sell it for and any parts that should be changed in or out is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

I'd say 400-500 for the old PC, but I'm not exactly sure.

I would advise getting 2x512MB because dual channel REALLY helps.

Ok I added up some of the parts at it was upwards of $850 dollars, but I'm selling it for $750 dollars. Do you guys think this is reasonable? And here's the hardware I'm putting in it...

If anyone could be so kind as to see if the motherboard suports the DVD drive I want and make sure the HDD are also supported, as well as check to see if the DVD drive will also play CDs that would be MOST APPRECIATED as I have a class to get to and my internet at home is down. Thanks a lot guys I REALLY appreciate it.

try ebay start bid at 450 hope to get 700:) PS: dont forget to charge a crazy rate for handling

850$ for something like that? Unless you found an idiot, there would be no way that would sell.

yeah no offense, but i'd have to agree, nooone would buy that for more than $700, and that would be pretty hard in itself.
