i want to buy a gig stick of ram, my dell dimension 9100 uses ddr2. I want to buy OCZ memory in gold or something around 120, but all they have is ddr. Is that a misprint or am i missing something?

ahh dont get ddr:p I know amd can only do ddr but get ddr2 for intel its faster i dont think it can do ddr not sure

i donno...i bought a 512 stick of ddr at staples, it didn't fit. maybe the OCZ memory fits? help!!!

yeah thought so, ddr2= intell
ddr= AMD

as the processor must correspond to the the mobo it aint gunna fit return it and get some off a of newegg.com

DDR2 has double the Data Bus Speed.

It also usually has highler latencies and is more expensive.

ddr is not just for amd its just amd's architecture does not support ddr2.. yet anyway.. dont think they are every gonna support it though cause the craze for it wasn't as high as they thought it was gonna be.. ddr can be used for amd or intel, it depends on what the board handels, most new intel mobo's take ddr2 ram not really much else.

darn- so OCZ only makes ddr, so i cant buy any ddr2 cause they dont make any. ill have to settle for some other company then. thanx
