is this a good deal, im putting in my ZS 2 card in and getting a 6800 later on

uhh...its not very good compared to the dell PC's. $499.99 for a p4 3.0 hyperthreading, 1 gig memory, 250 gig hdd, a 17inch LCD, not CRT (or 19 inch i forgot), and a printer.

i thought that AMD's were better and i dont need a printer, but that would be nice

edit: oh and i looked at the dell E510's i think and it was $709 for a 2.8 P4 HT, 80 GB HD, Crap intergrated vid card, no sound card and a 17 inch flat screen

no no no...u CANT jus go on the dell website and configure a computer. u have to enter the promotional codes. chekc this website everyday for low price dell computer as well as other computer hardware components:

save up $600 be4 christmas and build a comp ;)
you'll be much happier i guarantee
but if you do get that compaq, then your gonna wanna spend an extra few hundred bucks upgradin it.

i agree. building is more fun and u can learn lots from it. if u have hyperthreading then u can run lots of programs at once and thre will be dramatically less lag. a very helpful technology

yes, but couldn't you also just overclock?
or buy a sht load o' ram?
correct me if i'm wrong
i learned sooooooooooooooooooooo much from building my pc, its a great experience

buying more ram cost more and doesnt have that much of a noticable effect. hyper threading is very noticable.
