lets say i have a 108 mbps router. does that router transfer up to 108 mbps only on wireless or lan (with ethernet cable) or both?

Yes, techinically it should if everything is matched up to 108mpbs or higher. You should have 100% network utilization. Your bottleneck would be the WAN you are on too, but that's different.

I'm using a combination of both. I can share files across my LAN and the bottleneck would be my router which transfers data at 54mbps max. whereas my NIC supports speeds up to 1gbps. My cable modem has a throughput of 100mbps, but only max 6mbps goes through. Isn't that crazy? So many bottlenecks.
