I want to spend about $100-$150 to buy a second hard drive for my system so i can set up a RAID array. I want something that will be fast and reliable. What is the best I can get?
What is your current hard drive spec? It's better to match the drives by size and speed for maximum compatiblity. Can you imagine 2xWD Raptors at 10,000RPMs each in RAID 0? Yikes. Get me a SCSI.

You should just get another Maxtor 200GB one to go with it. Remember, the RAID will be only as big as the smallest drive and you will loose the remaining space.
Get either the Seagate 7200.9 or Maxtor MaXLine III hard drives. They're fast and good for the money. Oh yeah, they use Serial ATA 3.0Gb/s unlike the Raptor's Serial ATA 150. Not to mention that they both have 16mb of cache unlike the Raptor's 8mb.
