Hi, I recently bought a stick of 1GB PC3200 Ram. I want to put it in my comp with my 512 of PC2700. I was told that if I put both in, the RAM should scale to my PC2700. However, when I put it it and turn my comp on. My monitor gets no signal from my comp. It sounds like its starting up fine.

Whats the deal?

Thanks in advance.

mobo specs? Some of them takes dual channel and you hav to install it like this:

1 2 1 2

Instead of:

1 1 1 1

Sorry man, I don't quite understand what you are saying. I'm not very computer savvy. :\

A friend of mine mentioned something about BIOS configuration.

No. BIOS has nothing to do with this for the moment.

What is your motherboard brand?

First thing's first

That is the Processor. The motherboard is like ASUS, ABIT, etc. The procesor does tell me it is a decent board.

Okay, how many RAM slots do you have?

does it looks like this?

2 slots eh? Try this:

Put the PC2700 first, then the PC3200. Always put the lower RAM stick to the left. It causes less trouble

I tried putting the RAM sticks independently, it worked fine for each.
I tried putting the RAM sticks in together, 3200 in slot 1 and 2700 and slot 2... didnt work. I tried 3200 in slot 2 and 2700 in slot 1 and again it didnt work. :\

...weird. Usually, they do. And it isn't a capacity issue. Let's see. How long do you wait. Sometimes, it takes longer to boot. Mine does that
