Intel's new CPU

The Opteron 146 is a single San Diego core processor. I think it's about $200+

Definitely. AMD's socket-754 Sempron 64 2600+ is only about $45 inc. VAT, yet it's more than enough for basic work and can compete with lower-end Athlon 64's. And thanks to Intel's decision to make some Celeron D's 64-bit, it's also 64-bit, so yeah, competition is great. :D

Competition is good. Chioces sometimes may be a bitch, but they're usually good :D

lol, like AMD delaying support for DDR2. DDR2 does have high latencies, but now they got 667MHz DDR2, with lower latencies, the gap is closing.
