Looks like your chipset supports PCI-e which is good (Motherboard Chipset Intel Grantsdale-G i915G).

Yes, you will definitely need a good video card to replace that onboard video. How much are you willing to pay for a high performance video card?

the vid card is the only thing that needs upgrading

They are from like $50 to $450 so take something that fit's ur price range. U will have to pay about $200 for a good card.

K ty much im getting it for christmas probly so yea around 200-300 $ is good so i wouldnt need a fan or anything?

The video card comes with a heatsink/fan combo already. If you're talking about a system fan, do you have any additional slots to add one? Oh you know what? Get a PCI exhaust blower for that video card too. THat thing is the best kept secret. It will help with the cooling:

This is one of the better one's I've seen.

FOr video card:

Look at the wonderful reviews for that card. :)

$263 after rebate, this card ROCKS. THis will do very nicely with your system. I'm even thinking about buying that one. So please do...The card runs pretty warm like all 6800GTs which is why you should also by that PCI exhaust blower to compliment it.
